CUPE Local 3034

Representatives of CUPE Local 3034, which represents workers with the Town of Conception Bay South, were on hand at the regular public council meeting this month to greet the mayor and pose for a photography to make the recent signing of a new four year collective agreement. The workers will get raises of 2 per cent this year, and again next year, then raises of 2.5 per cent in 2025 and 2026 for a total of nine per cent. From left are: Shop Steward and former Local 3034 president Terri-Lynn Cooper, the Local’s Secretary Jean Greeley, Chief Shop Steward Stephanie Lear, newly elected Local President Judy Bishop, and Mayor Darrin Bent. “We’re always pleased when we can come to the conclusion of a negotiation,” said Mayor Bent, who noted the raise was inline with other recent agreements. Managers with the Town will receive the same pay increases. Craig Westcott photo
