Even though it was missing half its members due to illness and scheduling conflicts, the CBS Community Youth Choir put on an award-winning performance when it competed at the St. John’s Kiwanis Music Festival this week. The group performed in the Community Choirs 19 years of age and under class and was awarded first place with a mark of 85. The choir is comprised of young people from CBS in Grades 1-12 and is directed by Renee Traverse and Andrea Powell. The members include, starting in the front row, from left: Addison Sellars, Peyton Long, Sydney Hanlon, Liam Hanlon, Lillian Byrne, Katie Fagan, Emma Traverse, Emily Brien, Brianna Colmay; and in the back row, from left: Andrea Powell, Charlotte Walsh, Natalie Lewis, Ella Crosbie, Anna Deacy, Brianna Vey, Emma Rogers, Trystin Walsh-Hayward, Skylee Squires, and Renee Traverse.
