Members of the Harleys Owners Group, an association of local “hog” enthusiasts, made good recently on their saying, ‘It’s not you who you look out for, it’s others,” by herding together and rustling up donations for the CBS/Paradise Foodbank. “Fay Dawe and her volunteers are workhorses,” said the group’s spokesperson Robyn Lafreniere. “The amount of time and effort that goes into running the place shows nothing but true determination and the true need to help others.” To help the food bank, the Harley Owners Group along with Rugged Rock Harley Davidson held a month-long food drive encouraging riders to drop off nonperishable food items at the store. At a breakfast meeting, the group’s members handed over a cheque for $2,120 and approximately $4,000 worth of food. Rugged Rock Manager Sean Lafrense made a pledge to match the group’s donation. On hand for the donation were, starting from left: Bazil Codner, Terry Power, Steve Crane, Tony Matthews, Neil Butler, Fay Dawe of the CBS Paradise Food Bank, Rugged Rock Harley Davidson manager Sean Lafrense, Harley Owners Group director Patrick Lafreniere, spokesperson Robyn Lafreniere, Arlene Scott, Kim Power and Derek Scott.
