Paradise’s seemingly unending lift station woes trickle on, this time at the Woodstock location.
The sewage facility had to get emergency repairs recently after a surge in the flow with the work having to be done in haste while the station was down.
Repairs to the surge line were carried out, and a brace was installed to prevent future surges, council was told Tuesday.

The repairs were made by Rodco Mechanical to the tune of $16,003.
This past February the Town approved $299,345 to replace piping, valves, and components within the lift station, only to find the facility malfunction again just weeks later. After debating between repairing or replacing a pump in the lift station, council opted to repair it to the tune of $49,695 over an estimated six weeks. Replacing it altogether would extend the life of the station but would have cost $100,199 and taken 17 weeks.
The problems are in addition to those at the infamous Lift Station No. 10, which is being replaced at a cost of some $26 million.
