CONCEPTION BAY SOUTH

Theatre CBS is holding open auditions for A Christmas Carol the Radio Play by Philip Grecian. There are 6 male and 5 female adult roles, any age. You do not need a prepared audition piece. Auditions will be held in 30 minute time blocks. To request a time or inquire about the show email theatrecbs@gmail.com. Experience is not necessary. We are also seeking individuals interested in being part of the backstage crew.

If your child will be six by December 31 and you are interested in having them prepare for their Sacraments, we plan to begin our preparation program in early November. Registration will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022 at St. Thomas of Villanova Parish Hall at 7:15 p.m.. Fee is $25 for one child or $40 per family. This program is open for all children from Paradise to Seal Cove.  For further information please contact the Parish Office at 834-9481.

Free Lifestyle Clinic Tuesday October 4, 2022; 7:00 pm at the Lions Club House, 10 Minerals Road, CBS; sponsored by Avalon Northeast Rotary Club. The St. Thomas of Villanova, CWL will be having a Card Game on Wednesday, October 5 at 8:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Admission is $5. Bring you own cards and enjoy a night out with friends.

Open Mic at All Saints Parish on October 8th. All Saints Parish ACW are hosting a Luncheon & Card Game on Thursday, October 13th, starting at 12 noon.  Meal will be a Jiggs Dinner with all the trimmings, dessert, tea/coffee.  Cost for meal will be $15, card game $5.  If you plan on attending this event please call Barb 834-4795 or Dot 834-5052 to place your order.  Everyone welcome.  

Worsley Park 50 Plus Club – Cards every Tuesday night at 8 p.m., and cards every Wednesday at 2 p.m. Bingo on Thursday afternoons at 2 p.m. October 13th Bingo is cancelled. Open Mic November 5. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.  Call Geri at 834-4965.

Newfound Sound Women’s Barbershop Chorus invites women and non-binary  folks of all ages to try singing four-part, a cappella harmonies in the barbershop style on any Wed., 7 to 9 p.m. at St. James United Church, Elizabeth Ave., St. John’s. The Newfoundland and Labrador Stuttering Association (NLSA) is hosting a VIRTUAL …’a million things I need to say’ 1K/5K Walk, Run & Roll for Stuttering Awareness and Bursary Program Fundraiser on the weekend of October 22/23.  October 22 is also International Stuttering Awareness Day (ISAD). 

Where’s the Food? Do you grow, gather, hunt, trap or fish? We need to hear from you!
