Keep signaling the cell companies, Connors urges

By Craig Westcott/February 17, 2023

Bell Aliant may say it’s getting the quality problems with cellular service in the west end of CBS under control, but many people who have tried to get a decent signal in parts of Kelligrews probably feel differently.

So, it was no surprise when the issue arose again at CBS council last week.

Councillor-at-large Paul Connors, who lives in Kelligrews and who has been pushing the issue on council’s behalf, encouraged residents to keep letting the service providers know when they are experiencing problems.

“We’ve been hearing some positive feedback, but we’re certainly not at the level that a town our size deserves,” Connors said. “And we are still having some challenges in places. But it does appear that services have improved and the providers are sorting some of the issues out. They tell us that they’ve made some adjustments and repairs and they discovered some issues, but we’re still not where we want to be as a town. So once again I’m hoping that anyone who is having any challenges with dropped calls or data issues will send a complaint to the service providers. The only way that we will get up to the level we want is if we continue to let the service providers know what our issues are, and they have to be specific issues.”
