It wouldn’t be Canada Day without someone getting soaked in a dunk tank. There was lineup of eager contestants putting down money to see who could strike the bar to send Suzanne Curran, a popular teacher at Immaculate Conception School in Colliers, down for a splash. Curran is also a member of Conception Harbour’s Recreation Commission. The towns of Conception Harbour, Harbour Main, Colliers and Avondale got together for the first regional Canada Day celebrations held on the grounds of the Colliers Recreation Complex. Proceeds from the dunk tank tickets went to charities.
