Tilley was a well-respected sports coach, rural economic developer, environmentalist, and an organic farmer on his family’s longstanding Kelligrews property on Tilley’s Road South. The KEEP cleanup crew consisted of, from left: Vivian Murphy, Lynn Morris, Brad Strang, Lawrence Jesseau, Elise Murphy, Hope Bennett, Liam Bennett, Karen Morris, and Pilar Jesseau. Neil Penney photo. The Walsh family were among the groups cleaning up the ditches and byroads of Conception Bay South last Saturday as part of the Town’s annual community clean up known as the Three Hour Challenge. From left, Sheldon, Emily, 14, and Jessica Walsh collected litter in Foxtrap. The family picked up everything from discarded medical masks to a lumberjacket. The oddest find was about 20 Nevada tickets, including one winner with the serial number missing. Craig Westcott photo. The Long Pond branch of the Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union was a major sponsor of the Three-Hour Challenge this year, along with fellow sponsors Tim Horton’s and The Shoreline News.
