Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador hosted its annual awards ceremony this month, recognizing athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters from across the province. Among the winners were two CBS Brightstars. Ethan Tucker, along with Anna Paterson of the Gander Wings Club, tied for Rising Star Coach of The Year award. Shirley Miller was awarded the Evan Ash Builder Award in recognition of her 15-plus years of volunteer work with both the CBS Brightstars and Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador as a whole.
