Town renews deal to pay Manuels River Centre $120K per year

By Craig Westcott/January 6, 2022

The Town of CBS and the board that runs the Manuels River Centre have struck another memorandum of Understanding that will see the Town pay the group $120,000 a year for the next four years for the use of the facility.

Councilor-At-Large Christine Butler, who chairs council’s economic development committee, said the money is provided as an operating grant to the Manuels River Natural Heritage Society.

Butler said the MOU outlines the types of expenses that can be covered by the Town’s money. The Town signed its first four-year MOU with the Society back in 2017.
