Bay Roberts RCMP arrests two teens for residential break and enter in Shearstown

Two teenagers from Bay Roberts area were taken into custody following a break and enter into a residence in Shearstown.

On March 31, 2020, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Bay Roberts RCMP responded to a report of suspicious activity near the Shearstown Community Centre.  Officers attended the area and determined that an unoccupied home, that was under construction, was entered and a quantity of tools were stolen from inside.

The investigation led to the arrest of the two youth, who now face charges of break and enter, theft under $5000.00, and possession of break-in tools. The two were released to their parents and will appear in court at a later date.

Police recovered all of the stolen property and returned it to the home owner.   The investigation is continuing.

Bay Roberts RCMP thanks the public for their assistance in reporting the suspicious activity and encourages others to do the same.
