Paradise approves extra work on Neary Road
By Mark Squibb
Paradise council last week approved additional design work for the Neary Road water and sewer project.
Councillor Erin Furlong explained that during the conceptual design, staff identified misalignment between the roadway, centre line, and road reserve, and requested realignment work which fell outside the scope of the original contract inked with Englobe back in February in the amount of $173,454, HST included.
Englobe quoted the cost of the additional work at $4,416, HST included.
“The change order addresses the required realignment of the roadway, ditching, and culverts, to ensure proper realignment with the road reserve,” said Furlong.
Construction will be tendered this month, and the project is expected to be completed within the calendar year.
