Englobe tapped for CBS water, sewer, and road work

By Mark Squibb

The Town of CBS has hired Englobe to provide consultant services related to Phase 50 of the town’s water and sewer installation at a cost of $211,338, excluding HST.

Some $5 million in joint funding has been promised by the provincial and federal governments for the project, as well as for additional work at the Gateway atop Legion Road. The Town is on the hook for $2 million.

“We’re doing the design now, that’s what this motion is for this evening, and construction is expected to start late this summer and into 2027,” said councillor-at-large Joshua Barrett. “Just to be clear, we’re hoping to get as far west as possible. It obviously depends on cost.”

The project will include the installation of 2,000 metres of water and sewer services on Craigs Lane in Kelligrews and along Conception Bay Highway from 200 metres west of Daniels Road to the Town’s boundary with Holyrood.

Council also hired Englobe to provide consulting services for the Town’s 2026 Street Upgrading and Paving program for $86,943, HST excluded.

Barrett said staff are finetuning the list of roads to be completed in 2026, and it should be released in the coming weeks.
