Kimberley Street just might be the most popular politician in all of Paradise.
The councillor has earned the most votes in three consecutive municipal elections, including the most recent one.

“It was nice to see those numbers,” said Street of October 2 election win where she headed the poll among the group of 10 who sought office. “I’ve worked very hard over these last six years, and I’d like to thank residents for casting a vote for me. I really appreciate it, and I’m really excited for a new term of council.”
Street was first elected in a 2019 by-election, beating three other candidates vying for a seat that opened after Paul Dinn was elected to provincial politics. She ran another successful campaign in the 2021 election and was named deputy mayor shortly thereafter. She also briefly served as interim mayor following the resignation of Dan Bobbett to pursue provincial politics in September.

“It’s been important to be accessible, and to listen, and to provide information to residents,” said Street. “Mind you, not every time it’s the answer they hope for. But people generally appreciate when someone is there to talk to them and be understood. Being honest, having a big heart, and being respectful of all sides is important to me. I want to work hard for the town. It’s a growing community and our needs are great.”
Street spent election night at her mother Ethel’s home with friends and family, as has been her tradition.
“My mom has been my biggest fan,” said Street. “She’s an incredible woman and I’m very grateful to have her in my life.”
