Holyrood to enforce business registration
By Mark Squibb
Business owners in Holyrood who have not registered their businesses with the Town may be soon penalized.
Council, which has been raising the issue for a couple of years, is developing a new business bylaw which is set to come into effect this September.
“The bylaw will clearly outline the requirement that all businesses operating in Holyrood need to be registered,” explained Deputy Mayor Michele Woodford. “There will be established penalties for non-compliance and there will be a clear enforcement framework on how we move forward.”
Woodford said that prior to adopting the new bylaw the Town will launch a “social media campaign” to ensure businesses are in the know.
