Council has its priorities wrong
Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor:
Someone needs to look into how this (CBS) council is spending money.
First off ,16 million dollars for the community centre – part paid by the provincial government. I am assuming that a lot of money was spent for the design of the balloon structure, and now the Town has gone and cancelled that because it was going to cost an extra $4 million.
Then they turn around and go with a steel structure that will cost 22 million dollars. Lookout public, taxes keep going up and you have absolutely no say in it.
Projects like this should be put to a vote by the general public – not by the mayor and a few councillors.
So many people are still waiting for water and sewer – that is what should be the priority.
Harry Tucker, CBS
