Bay Roberts to keep 3-way Klondyke stop
By Mark Squibb
Bay Roberts council has denied a request to remove the three-way stop from the intersection of George Mercer Drive and the Klondyke Causeway.
Councillor Silas Badcock brought the matter forward during the February 10th public council meeting, arguing the removal of the three-way stop would create unsafe conditions.
“The reason we put that three-way stop there was to calm traffic, and we feel if we take it out of there it would defeat the purpose we put it there for,” agreed councillor Frank Deering, who moved to deny the request.
Council voted unanimously to deny the request, but committed to further discussions on traffic in the area.
