Paradise makes good on booster pump rebate for residents on higher ground

By Mark Squibb

Residents of Elizabeth Park and other high elevation areas will be glad to hear that the Town of Paradise has made good on its promise to offer rebates on the cost of water pressure booster pumps.
During the July 22 public meeting, Deputy Mayor Kimberley Street explained there had been development above the 180-metre contour prior to the Town’s establishment of limits of service.
“As a means to support residents beyond the limit of service who wish to have a higher quality service provided by higher water pressure, the Town has decided to offer a rebate to qualified residents to offset some of the costs associated with installing a home water pressure booster pump in their homes,” said Street.
The Town has budgeted $50,00 to implement the policy.
“It’s a great job by staff getting this program out to be approved,” said councillor Patrick Martin. “I have a lot of residents waiting for this to be approved, and I know they’re actually watching the council meeting tonight after seeing the agenda and are waiting for this to go through.”
The motion passed unanimously.
