More chickens are coming to home to roost in the east end of Conception Bay South.
The latest application for a hobby farm approved by council is located at 10 Breeze Place.
The owners will be allowed to house four chickens. That’s on condition they submit a manure management plan, register the hobby farm with the Provincial Farm Premises ID Program, and obtain permits for any accessory structures.
Mayor Darrin Bent stressed that there would be no roosters allowed on the property, and put to a vote, the motion to approve the farm was approved.
In other development news, council approved a business application for a garage at 963 Conception Bay Highway, subject to permits being obtained for any further renovations required to accommodate the operation. Council also noted that should the applicant wish to pave the existing gravel parking lot, it must be designed and constructed in accordance with the Town’s development regulations.
And finally, council also approved a residential home with subsidiary apartment at 1 Seal Cove Road.
