Residents to have say on design of Holyrood community centre
By Mark Squibb
Residents of Holyrood may soon have a clearer picture of what their new, long-promised community centre may look like.
Councillor Steve Winsor said Lean Consulting has prepared three design options for council’s consideration. Once council has reviewed the plans and spoken with the consultants, the Town will host some form of public consultation so that residents can have their say, he added.
The consultant will then move forward with a detailed design plan taking all feedback into con-sideration.
Council budgeted for the design of the community centre in 2023, much to the delight of councillor Sadie King, who has been vocal about her belief that the community desperately needs a centre. The Town accepted a $908,060 multi-year capital works funding deal last year from the Province to help offset construction costs.
