‘Keep them coming,’ Woodford says of building applications

By Mark Squibb

Holyrood council approved a number of new home building applications during the February 4 meeting.

Council approved residential builds at 29 Green Acres, 131 North Side Road, 120 Country Path, and a backlot development in The Valley, the civic address of which has yet to be determined.

Council also approved a residential build at 40 A Brophy’s Road. The application was actually received back in 2022, but the permit had since expired. Deputy Mayor Michele Woodford said that owing to an error, the Town plan did not address back lot developments in the residential low-density zone, which this particular application was in. The issue has since been addressed and council re-approved the application.

“I’ve just got to say, it’s great to see all these residential builds coming to the table,” said Woodford. “It’s excellent, excellent to see. Keep them coming”

Council also approved a permit list containing eight permits for things including Occupancy, Accessory Building, and General Repairs.
