The CBS Kin Club held it’s annual Coats for Community donation drive at the Long Pond Dominion on October 5, and members said they were overwhelmed by the outpouring of community support. By day’s end the public had donated approximately 650 coats and three garbage bags full of hats, mitts and scarves, along with 10 blankets. The donations are earmarked for the Salvation Army, Teen Challenge, Atlantic Hope Women’s Centre, personal care homes, AMAL Youth and Family Centre, Safe Haven Emergency Shelter, The Gathering Place, and the Salvation Army Wiseman Centre and Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Team. The Club extended its thanks to Dominion, Long Pond and manager Brian Moore for continued support of the project and for a donation of new children’s winter outfits.
