Downtown CBS volunteer thanked for contribution

A longtime member of the CBS business community received plaudits at council last week following her recent resignation from the board of directors of Downtown CBS.

Jacqui Morgan of the Morgan Group of Companies had been a member of the board its inception in 2015, noted Ward 1 councillor Shelley Moores.

“Jacqui has played an integral role contributing significantly to the success of the Downtown CBS Business Improvement Association,” said Moores. “Following council’s adoption of the Main Street Improvement Plan in 2013, a Main Street Advisory Group was formed in 2014 of which Jacqui was a member… Her leadership and commitment to advancing downtown CBS has been inspiring. She is a doer, always keen to get things done and continuing to push the agenda forward.”

Moores said while Morgan was a volunteer on the board, she, along with her sister Christine Hand, also of the Morgan Group, took a lead role in developing new signage for the downtown, which will be erected in the coming months.

“Her family, including her late father Clarence J. Morgan, are always at the forefront of contributing at the grassroots level to ensure the town and its business community is vibrant and strong,” said Moores.
