The Anglican Church Women’s committee at St. John the Evangelist Church in Topsail held an afternoon tea recently to celebrate the Town of Conception Bay South’s 50th Birthday. The group took $5 from every ticket sold and donated the proceeds to the C.B.S./Paradise Food Bank. ACW president Betty Hiscock, left, later presented a cheque in the amount of $500 to Food Bank representative Gail Trewhitt.
