Holy Spirit students earn accolades and prizes at provincial drama festival

The Holy Spirit High drama troupe brought home a number of awards from the provincial drama festival two weekends past.

Tyler Andrews won Best Makeup and Comedic Acting in a Supporting Role. Zach Young won Best Use of a Prop. Dane Reid won Excellence in Comedic Movement. Jane Metcalfe won Excellence in Acting in a Lead Role. Molly O’Keefe won in Directing, Stage Managing and Light/Sound Design categories.

The troupe also won the Excellence in Ensemble award.

Students performed a piece titled “Conflict,” which tells the tale of a man so fixated on a cantaloupe that he develops a relationship with said cantaloupe. The regional and provincial drama festivals were cancelled for a number of years due to COVID, and for many students, this was their first time competing.
