CBS Ward 4 councillor Melissa Hardy, right, was called upon by Mayor Darrin Bent this week to help with the proclamation and had the honour of introducing one that was important to her niece, Kate Cleary, age 9, left. In proclaiming October 23 – 29 as Canadian Down Syndrome Week. Hardy noted the objective is to promote “public knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the strengths and contributions of individuals with Down Syndrome”.
