Residents of Paradise can expect to see some new curb and sidewalks in their neighbourhoods in the coming months.
Council earlier this month ratified an email vote to award a contract for concrete work to lowest qualified bidder Dexter Construction.
The scope of work includes installation of 210 metres of sidewalk along Paradise Road, installation of six metres of new curb and sidewalk along Fred W. Brown Way, installation of 19 metres of new sidewalk along at the intersection of Paradise Road and St. Thomas Line, repairs to a catch basin near 1503 Topsail Road and reinstatement of six metres of curb and sidewalk, and installation of 25 metres of new curb and sidewalk along Elizabeth Drive.
The Town received six bids for the work and approved the lowest tender price of $98,948 plus HST.
Council approved the contract through an email poll on October 23, and awarded the contract to Dexter’s Construction at a cost of $113,799 HST included.
