Holyrood hopes third time the charm for rescheduled light show

By Mark Squibb

The Town of Holyrood has once again rescheduled the drone light show.

The show was originally scheduled for July 19 and meant to close out the 2026 Squidfest. The Town opted for a drone light show rather than fireworks citing the risk of wildfires posed by fireworks displays and complaints in recent years about fireworks and the loud noises associated with fireworks displays.

However, the light show ended up getting postponed due to high winds and rescheduled for September 19, but had to be postponed again due to high winds.

The drone light show has now been rescheduled for Saturday, October 24, at 8 p.m. – should the wind cooperate.

The light show will coincide with the Town’s fall festival, which runs from October 24 to November 4 and includes events such as the Harvest Hoedown, Flavours of Holyrood food festival, Pumpkin Walk, community bon fire, and Spooktrunkular.
