The Harbour Main- Chapel’s Cove-Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department hosted it’s 54 annual Firefighters Ball last month. A good time was had by all and several members received service awards. Captain Liam Morgan and firefighter Edward Corbett both received Five-Year Service Awards, firefighter Mike Doyle received a Ten-Year Service Award. Lieutenant Jennifer Bishop was named Firefighter of the Year. Firefighter Toby Simpsons received his 20-Year Service Award later in the month. The department also had reason to celebrate as the provincial government earmarked $5,072 for fire fighting equipment this past summer.
