Paradise rings up savings on cellular contract

The Town of Paradise is set to save over $2,000 a year on it’s municipal cellular bill.
Council had inked a three-year contract with Bell Canada that was set to expire this coming January. Part and parcel of the deal was the option to renew for an additional three years.
That renewal will come with cost reductions and additional features, including reduced voice and data plans and phone upgrade discounts.
All told, council is expecting to save about $2,200, plus tax, per year, or about $6,800 over the life of the three-year contract.
Bell Canada will also allow the Town to avail of the discounts three months ahead of the expiration of the old contract
“In a world where we see prices increasing on everything and on almost every memo that comes to us, to see something decreasing, and fairly substantially, is a good thing,” said councillor Glen Carew.
