Two Holyrood streets getting lick of asphalt

A paving tender has been awarded for Penney’s Lane and Garden Road in Holyrood to JSH Paving for $55,775.
Council approved the motion to submit a gas tax application for the work earlier this summer and approved the awarding of the tender last month after getting the go-ahead from the provincial government.
Councilor Steve Winsor noted the old asphalt along Penney’s Lane had been removed to accommodate new water infrastructure, while Garden Road had been on the paving priority list for some time.
JSH Paving submitted the lowest bid among three paving companies.
