Deadline next month for snowplow damages

By Craig Westcott

If you live in CBS and think the snowplow damaged your property this past winter, don’t linger when it comes to submitting a claim.

Councillor-at-Large Joshua Barrett reminded residents last week that the deadline for seeking compensation is May 31.

“It feels like I’m always chatting about winter, but hopefully, this will be the final council meeting where I inform you that our winter shift remains in place until mid-April,” said Barrett. “I also want to remind folks that any damage incurred by our winter services, there is an online form that folks can fill out on our website. And so please do have a look at that… if that applies to you and get that in on time.”

On a related note, Mayor Darrin Bent encouraged residents to report any bad potholes they see

It’s pothole season big time,” said the mayor. “And we’ve got a ‘Report a Pothole’ (system), so don’t just complain about potholes, report them. Even if it’s on a provincial road, report it to us, we’ll send it to them to see if they can get after it and get it filled up. There are a couple of doozies around town that we’ve let them know about already.”
