Kin Canada Week

Members of the CBS Kin Club visited the Town Hall last month where Mayor Darrin Bent read a proclamation declaring February 15 – 21 as Kin Canada Week. Bent noted the Kin members are always busy and earlier in the day had helped serve pancakes at All Saints Parish Hall to mark Shrove Tuesday. Speaking on behalf of the group, Diane Butler thanked council for its welcome. “We sincerely want to thank the Town for always supporting us,” she said. “We’re not as old as Kin Canada – they’ve been around for 126 years, and we’re just 49 years young and hopefully in CBS for a lot longer. We look forward to celebrating 50 years next year. We want to thank the residents and the businesses who always support us. And as Membership Director, I would be remiss if I didn’t say we are always looking for new members, people who are interested in volunteering in this beautiful town. We love it here and we’re so proud to be able to volunteer. So, for anybody interested, it’s the third Wednesday of the month at Worsley Park.” Mayor Bent thanked the Kin members for “working to make this town the great place that it is.” From left are: the CBS Kin Club’s longest serving member, Don Butler, and his wife Diane Butler, who are both Life Members, Mayor Bent, Sharon Maher and Jill Porter.
