Holyrood council to publish committee minutes

The Town of Holyrood will soon begin publishing the minutes of committee meetings. 

The move is to bring the Town into compliance with the Towns and Local Service Districts Act which was adopted by the provincial government in 2025 to replace the Municipalities Act.

Mayor Laura Crawley said the Town had posted committee minutes in the past but it had been “inconsistent.”

The mayor said staff will begin posting the minutes “as quick as they can.”

Council also adopted an arrears sale by-law that would direct council in collecting problematic taxes, as per the new Act.

Both by-laws were vetted by the Holyrood’s legal team to ensure proper procedure was followed.
