Harding promoted to market Manuels River Centre

The Town of CBS now has a manager in place to oversee the marketing of the Manuels River Centre and to look after community events.

Taylor Harding was a program supervisor in the Town’s recreation department before being promoted to the position of Manager of Community Programs and Events at last week’s public council meeting.

“This is a new managerial role in our recreation and leisure services department,” said Deputy Mayor Andrea Gosse. “Taylor is going to provide overall director for community events and programming, support expansion of services, and advance opportunities at the Manuels River Community Centre as a key destination. That department is growing. We’re doing a lot of programming in the community, and she’s going to take a lead role in that department.”

Mayor Darrin Bent said anyone who has had any dealings with the department over the past little while have probably already gotten to know Harding. “She’ll be a familiar face and it’s good to have her onboard in this position,” he added.

Harding has a master’s degree in human kinetics and recreation from Memorial University, is a certified therapeutic recreation therapist, and has volunteered as a coach with the Canadian Special Olympics program.
