Hardy rallies residents to plea for bus turnaround

By Craig Westcott

Residents of Forest Road in Kelligrews have petitioned CBS council for a turnaround to be cleared at the end of their street.

The petition was formally presented to council by the area’s representative, Ward 4 councillor Melissa Hardy at the October 6 public council meeting.

“As most of council are aware, the turning bulb at the end of Forest Road is not the appropriate size for a bus to turnaround safely so that they are able to pick up all the kids on Forest Road,” Hardy said. “Forest Road is a very long road. Some kids right now have to walk 1.2 kms to almost two kilometres to get to a bus stop. So, I had the residents sign a petition in hopes that the Province is able to do something temporarily while the Town is looking for funding to help with the turning bulb, because  it is a very costly project with the work that needs to be done.”
