Awaiting the start of the parade

No, it’s not Charles Schulz’s Peanuts gang, but a group of excited children from CBS who built a snow fort between Holy Sprit School and Manuels Bridge while they awaited the start of the town’s annual Christmas parade on December 7. In the front, from left, are Rebecca Grenning age 9, Ella Power, 9, and Owen Metcalfe, 6. In the next row, from left, are Maria Parsons, 9, Henry Parsons, age 5, Maggie Whalen, 9, and Avery Metcalfe, 9. This year’s parade was delayed a day because of high winds and frigid temperatures. The large crowd that lined both sides of Route 60 between Villa Nova Junior High and the Town Hall were rewarded with one of the longest parades with the most floats in the town’s history.
