Marking a milestone

Members of Paradise’s Under 14 AA female Phantoms baseball team were special guests at the 2025 Canada Games last month to help celebrate a milestone in Canadian sport: for the first time in history, female baseball was included as an official sport at the Games. The inaugural match featured Team Newfoundland and Labrador versus Team British Columbia. “It was an amazing opportunity to be a part of this landmark moment for Canadian baseball, and join in making history together,” said team spokesperson Lori Letto. Among the players attending the game were, from left: Tianna Marsh, Bella Letto, Quinn Abbott, Gusty the Canada Games Mascot, Kaitlyn Tilly, and Kadence Bourgeois. Submitted photo
