Possible Future Politician

An aspiring young politician was in attendance at this week’s Paradise council meeting. Chase Marie is the youth representative for the District of Topsail – Paradise. Though it wasn’t on the agenda, Marie was called forward to speak to council and the public. “I’ve been following politics, I’d say, since the fourth grade, when I was nine years old,” said Marie. “Since then, my knowledge of the topics regarding provincial, municipal, and federal politics has definitely gotten a bit better,” Marie quipped. He said he intends to join the Youth Parliament next year and would consider participating in a federal youth parliament. When Mayor Dan Bobbett suggested that he put his name forward for nomination to council in a few years, Marie, without missing a beat, said he would.
