‘I can offer a fresh outlook,’ says Petty Harbour candidate

By Mark Squibb

Mark Glynn says he changed one ocean view for another when he moved to Petty Harbour from Torbay about 15 years ago.

Glynn, a real estate agent by trade, was one of three candidates to put his name forward for next Thursday’s nomination.

“It’s a quiet, peaceful place, and everyone is so friendly,” said Glynn. “I just want to be a part of the community and see what more I can offer, see what else I can offer.”

Glynn said it’s important to approve only infrastructure that is in keeping with the natural beauty of the community.

“That’s the reason why most of the tourists go down there, to see the beautiful bays,” said Glynn, who said he would like to draw even more tourists to the community.

“I can offer a fresh outlook and a fresh take,” said Glynn “It will be my first time running for council in any district, but I think I can bring some great ideas to the table.

Despite efforts to reach them, the Irish Loop Post was unable to interview candidates Craig Chafe or Kayla Parsons, ahead of deadline.
