Three Hour Community Cleanup

Dark skies and a scattered bit of drizzle didn’t stop the members of the CBS Lions club from getting an early start on the Town of Conception Bay South’s Three Hour Community Cleanup last Saturday. The usual suspects were among the first to hit the streets and sidewalks to round up litter and trash. They started outside their den next to the Town Hall. From left, the crew included Wade Dicks, Jennifer Walsh, Donna Reddick, Jennifer Hutchings, and Dave Arnott. The cleanup was sponsored again this year by The Shoreline News and Tim Horton’s. Ever Green Recycling and Marcus Contracting also came on board with sponsorships. Craig Westcott photo
Tai Chi by the Sea was one of many groups whose members helped clean up Conception Bay South during the Town’s annual three hour challenge last Saturday. Tai Chi members Humphrey Dye and Marilyn Bell tackled a section of road on the border between Topsail and Chamberlains. “We’re getting less than we normally would get,” said Reid of the trash being taken. “Which is good, I guess,” added Dye.
