CommunityTop Story The Shoreline May 24, 2024May 29, 2024 0 Comments If you caught a glimpse of Trevor Redmond pushing his trolley cart along the Conception Bay Highway this week, you would have never guessed that he was struck by a vehicle and confined to a hospital bed at the age of 15. Redmond, the self-proclaimed ‘Fellow in Yellow,’ is running across Canada to campaign for a more inclusive world and to motivate others to lead healthier lives. He said there are a number of barriers that prevent people, able-bodied or not, from getting out and about and enjoying life — in this province, he points to narrow shoulders along the roadways and a lack of sidewalks as culprits. The Halifax native walked across Canada in 2006 and again in 2007, and in 2009 biked from coast to coast — not bad for a fellow who was once told he would not be able to walk without a cane.
