The lack of light around a set of Canada Post super mailboxes got an airing at Holyrood council last week.

Councillor Bruce King, who chairs the public safety committee, said residents have complained about the lack of light at the super mailbox station near Murray’s Peak Hiking Trail.
After discovering there was no light on the pole whatsoever, King said, he looked into the cost of lighting the area, which he estimated to be around $30 per month.
“It’s away from all other houses,” said councillor. “You can’t see anybody. If you got out of your car and there was somebody hiding there, you wouldn’t know who it was.”
King said he would like to see the area illuminated by the end of the next council meeting.
