Paradise to host Red Cross for emergency training

Paradise council last week approved a request from the Red Cross to use space at the Rotary Youth and Community Centre for a regional emergency management exercise on November 27.
“The Red Cross plans to test their capabilities to respond to emergencies,” explained Deputy Mayor Kimberley Street. “A meeting was held recently to discuss this request. Resource Room A on the lower floor is their preferred location, and recreation department staff were consulted on the room’s availability, and the request poses no interruption to the regular activities at the centre.”
Council agreed to waive the rental fee and approved the request.
“The exercise will benefit both the town and the Red Cross through testing the capabilities of their agency,” said Street.
