The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA) hand out their 2022 season awards

The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA) handed out their 2022 season awards earlier this month and members of the Paradise Soccer Club found themselves on the receiving end in two categories. Jack Turpin was named Male Youth of the Year while the Boys U17 Premier Youth League (PYL) team was awarded Youth Team of the Year. The boys team won the 2022 Boys U17 PYL provincial championship and went on to compete at the 2022 Toyota National Championships in Surrey, BC, making them the first team from Paradise to compete at a national level. Turpin, meanwhile, played for four teams this past season — the Boys U17 PYL, Challenge Cup team, NLSA B16 team and 2022 Canada Games team. In the PYL BU17 championship, Turpin scored both goals in the team’s 2-1 victory.
