Members of the 1st Paradise Venturers have proven they have the skills to survive the wilderness after claiming first place in a longstanding survival challenge at Youth Leadership Camp held at Camp St. George off the Salmonier Line the November 4 weekend. The challenge demanded Venturers to work together, communicate, and perform as a team, in order to find a lost and injured person in the woods, evaluate them, offer them first aid, and then carry them to safety. Some 38 youths attended the weekend wilderness camp, representing Paradise, CBS, Mount Pearl, Torbay, Clarenville, and Grand Falls.
