The world needs more Newfoundlanders

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

I, along with my wife and two friends who live just outside Victoria B.C., recently returned from a month-long vacation to Newfoundland. What a beautiful province! However more compelling than the natural beauty was the spirit from the people who we met along the way. They were friendly with an engaging energy that said ‘we love it here.’ I was struck by the fact that so many live and work in the communities where they were born. Their roots run deep, and they are strongly connected to their province. This energy and passion I’m sure will live on. What the world needs more than ever are more Newfoundlanders.
