Gail Lynch, left, along with Jude Lane, centre, and his brother Ewan, place a wreath at the CBS cenotaph in Long Pond on Friday, July 1 to mark Memorial Day and the service of Gail’s brother Herb Francis, a peacekeeper with the Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry Company, who passed away last fall at the age of 71. Francis was a member and past president of Branch 50 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Kelligrews. A very large crowd attended the Memorial Day service, which featured remarks by the Rev.
