CHAMPIONSHIP FEELING—The Queen Elizabeth High girls captured the province’s 4A soccer championship on the weekend, defeating the Gonzaga Vikings 4-3 Sunday in a tight match that saw the Pioneers down 3-1 with eight minutes to go, before rallying with three markers to catch and pass the St. John’s squad. The win marked QE’s first provincial soccer banner in 24 years. Lauren Rowe led the tournament scoring with 13 goals. Chelsea Tibbo recorded two clean sheets as keeper in the Round Robin versus Gonzaga and Exploits Valley.
