Paradise businesses given the thumbs up

By Mark Squibb | Vol. 31 No. 50 (February 27 2019)

Paradise council granted conditional approval to a number of small business applications over the past month.

Among the enterprises getting a thumbs up was a home-based massage therapy business at 32 Cameo Drive – barring no objections from the public.

Also approved according to the Town’s discretionary powers, but subject to meeting no major objections from the public, was an application from a property at 1746 Topsail Road to park a cube van on its lot and operate a home-based business.

The Town also intends to advertise for public comment an application to redevelop the lot at 167 Paradise Road for use as a children’s professional services facility.

An application, meanwhile, for a homestead lot subdivision at 51 Sunvalley Drive was rejected. The Town also declined to purchase land from the property owner.

Finally, council approved reimbursing the property owner at 2 Eagle Street for work associated with a subsidiary apartment on the property.
